T-Minus 24hrs
Hey GUYS! Welcome back to our blog. We wanted to write you again before we takeoff for JAPAN! 🤩 Today we are sitting in Louisville, KY at one of our favorite local ice-cream spots. (Louisville Cream) *delish*
UPDATE: Since our last blog we have been super busy. Packing, Planning, and Prepping …you know… all the behind the scenes stuff. It has been fun challenging ourselves to fit a month worth of clothes into a carry-on luggage. NOTE.. vacuum bags are a blessing! So on THAT note our bags are packed and we are ready to go!!!!
We’d like to take this moment to say thank you to everyone who has been very generous in helping our trip come to life, and because of that, along with lots of hard work, we officially now get to take a month off work! (shout out to those!) Our family was so kind and even put together a going away party! All done in cute Japan decor, of course. We really enjoyed an evening with friends on the family farm.
HOW DO WE FEEL? To be honest… we are feeling VERY excited to go out of the country for a new adventure! However, that excitement has some anxiety sprinkled in too. We are praying that our flights and travels all go smoothly. We really can’t wait to take those first steps in Tokyo, hop on the train, stop at a Konbini (japanese convenient store), check-in to our AirBnb, and meet the friends that await us there!
Along with packing our bags this week, we’ve been packing something special! We put together a collection of local KY handcrafted gifts, along with some “popular” American snacks to bring with us to share with our friends! These gifts include… ceramics, digital art, leather goods, and Reyna handmade some polymer clay earrings and cute KY bracelets. (all of the artists are mentioned below) – Much love to these guys!
